The explosion happened in a popular bus station that transports passengers out of the state to other states of the federation expecially the southern part of the country.
Reports in the market city of Onitsha suggests that the northerners in the city are fleeing the city for the fear of reprisal attacks. As traders in the bridge head market vent their anger over the explosion.
Many of the northerners besieged the army cantonment in Onitsha for refuge. But were shut out of the barracks. Military personnels have been dispatched to locations to calm the situation.
