Selfish Beings: A Poem about Corrupt Leaders

O thou selfish beings!
When wilt thou ever learn,
That the world was not made for thou alone,
Neither would it stop orbiting the sun
Because of thou?

You encounter the most beautiful thing on earth,
LOVE,
You want more of it,
You take all of it,
Yet you never give any of it.
Hasn't thou heard
That LOVE is exchangeable,
Taking and never giving
Profits nothing?

You hurt the one you love,
You are equally hurt
By the one you love,
Yet you choose to play
The broken-hearted,
The most hurt of all;
You'd rather have the handkerchief in your face
Than face it in anther's.

You think about your gain
Your fame and your name
At the expense of another's pain,
Shame and wail.
When you're down and out,
You seek a SELFLESS soul
To cater for your
SELF-CENTERED ego

Didn't you notice
That umbrella could accommodate another head;
A slight adjustment on the bus seat
Could help another passenger;
A few change from your pocket
Could set a meal straight for a beggar?

Thou selfish beings!
You disgust me
With your foolish pride.
You hold your head up high
And say to yourself
"It didn't hurt me,
So I don't give a care"
I pity your end days.

Selfish beings,
Yet you call yourselves
Human Beings,

O thou selfish beings!
When wilt thou ever learn,
That this world was not made for thou alone,
Neither would it stop orbiting the earth,
Because of thou?
