More Cracks in PDP as Jerry Gana defies Bamanga Tukur

PDP as a party is not always far from controversies and disharmony. In fact, it seems the party thrives in controversies. The largest party in Africa have been thrown into yet another fit of controversy as the chairman of mini-national convention planning committee of the party, Prof. Jerry Gana have refused to heed the directive of the National working Committee led by the chairman of the party, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur to put the activities of the committee on hold.

The national executive council (NEC) of the party in an emergency meeting on June 20 appointed the Prof. Jerry Gana led committee to organise a mini national convention for the election of about 20 National executive council (NEC) and National Working Committee (NWC) members who were sacked by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for being elected without following 'due process' in the PDP 2012 National Convention.

The South-West Zonal Congress and the mini-national convention was slated for the July 11 and 20 respectively but was postponed to August 24 and 30 due to the Ramadan Fast until the sudden directive from the NWC to stop the activities of the committee without approval from the NEC that set up the committee.

The committee have reportedly taken the matter to the president and the board of trustees.
