Taye Taiwo to lose N120 million House Due to Tax Fraud

Bursaspor Defender and Nigerian International;Taiye Taiwo has been called to answer questions over Chargers of tax fraud levelled against him by French authorities in a Marseille court. The former Olympique Marseille defender might forfeit his €600,000 (about N120 million) valued mansion in Allauch, a French community located east of Marseille as a Marseille court has already started the proceeding to seize the said mansion

Taiye Taiwo defaulted in the payment of income taxes in  both 2008 and 2009 according to the French fiscal authorities. He also defaulted in the payment of property taxes in 2011 on his home. which they say will be auctioned at €200,000 three times lower than its market value.

The super eagle defender; Taiwo, is said to owe €1,025,000 in taxes, which can be paid installmentally if he is not capable of paying off the debt  all at once.

The 28-year-old defender who played for Olympique Marseille for six seasons between 2005 and 2011 before joining Italian giants AC Milan and Turkish side Bursaspor recently was not present at the tax office is yet to respond to the charges. He is currently earning €2 million per annum.
