Aluu 4: Case adjourned as Police Press Fresh Charges

You remember Aluu 4? The four students of the University of Port Harcourt (Binnga Lordson, Ugonna Obuzor, Mike Toku, and Tekena Erikene) who were lynched to death by an angry mob on October 5th 2012 in Omokiri, Aluu in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State?

12 suspects were arrested in connection to the case amongst whom is Alhaji Hassan Welewa, the community leader of Omokiri. They have been re-arraigned before a High Court sitting in Port Harcourt on the charges of murder and negligence/refusal to prevent felony.

The trial judge, Justice Nyordee adjourned the case to August 15 for consideration of bail. But ordered that the accused remain in custody.

A lot of groups are advocating and pushing for the speedy end to this case.
