From the batch C timetable released by the NYSC hierarchy, the compilation of Mobilization list is supposed to start this first week of August. But as at the time of publishing this report, the Academic staff Union of Universities (ASUU) is still on strike and the non Academic Staff union (NASU) is threatening to join the strike. Prospective batch C corpers are right to be a little worried.
But the truth is that if their results have been approved by the university senate before the strike action, then they need not worry. But on the other hand, if the results was not approved by the university senate before the strike commenced then they need to pray that the strike be called off as soon as possible. This is because the university Senate can only seat after the strike.
So, if you belong to this set of graduates whose result have not been approved by your university senate, it is in your best interest to join the undergraduates in campaigning for a quick end to the ASSU strike or face the risk of missing out on the november batch.
But on the other hand, the school authorities can find a way of approving the results of graduates so that they will not miss the november batch.
ASUU and the federal government should also intensify their efforts in resolving the issues that led to the strike. So that students can go back to school and prospective Batch C corpers can answer the clarion call and serve their fatherland.
