Ngige's diminishing political goodwill continues as APC holds rally in Onitsha on Ofala festival day

The cloud that have been eclipsing the political career of the former governor of anambra state and a serving senator of the Federal republic, senator Chris Ngige isn't showing any signs of letting up.

Once the darling of the masses and the most popular politician from anambra state, senator Ngige's political fortunes has taken a huge dip.

Senator Ngige's political goodwill was on the back of the intimidation and victimization from the Uba family, his erstwhile political God fathers. Which won him huge sympathy from different sections of the Nigerian political spectrum.

His popularity has since been on the decline as his passive stay in the national assembly has not translated into any meaningful development for the people of anambra. This is evident in the fact that he has never sponsored or co- sponsored any Bill in the national assembly.

His affiliation with the political party, APC is not helping matters as APC is largely seen as a Yoruba party. The situation got worse with his defense of Governor fashola of Lagos state during the "deportation" saga.

Ngige and his handlers goofed again in his quest to win the Anambra gubernatorial elections by fixing his party's Campaign rally on the same day the Obi of Onitsha is holding the annual Ofala festival.  This act was regarded as disregard for the traditional institution of the people he is aspiring to lead.

The rally attracted wide condemnation and demonstration from Onitsha youths. With the Traditional Ruler of Onitsha, Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe, the Obi of Onitsha placing a curse on the senator.

It remains to be seen how he will fare in the gubernatorial pools holding in barely a months time.
