Future Awards Africa Honours 15 young Nigerians and 1 Ugandan

The Future Awards Africa has honoured Fifteen young Nigerians and one Ugandan with awards of different categories on Friday night, 21st December at the Aztech Arcum, Port Harcourt in the 2013 Edition of The Future Awards Africa.

Future awards aimed at honouring outstanding achievers in different areas of life who are below the age of 31.

Some of the Awardees are;
  1. Orode Uduaghan-Okpu - Advocacy and Activism
  2. Ife Adebayo - Community Action
  3. Otto Orondaam - Education
  4. Uche Pedro - Media Entrepreneur of the Year
  5. Toyosi Ogunseye - Journalism
  6. Kingsley Ezeani -New Media
  7. Saeed Jumah - Business
  8. Precious Nweke - Agriculture
  9. Ayodeji Adewunmi, Opeyemi Awoyemi and Olalekan Olude of Jobberman.com - Enterprise Support
  10. Hugo Obi - Science and Technology
  11. Kaye Temenu - Professional Service.
  12. Dr Adanna Chukwuma - Public Service
  13. O. C. Ukeje - Entertainment Talent
  14. Kenneth Gyang - Arts and Culture
  15. Aisha Bello - Fashion and Style.
  16. Ashish  Thakkar from Uganda - Young Person of the Year

Speaking at the event, Gov. Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers, urged the youth to contribute their own quota in nation building. "The way you behave does not augur well for this country,’’ he said, adding that the contributions of the youths was necessary to move the country to greater height.

The Executive Director of the awards, Chude Jideonwo, in his speech, said that the award was set up to inspire young people to achieve great things. “We have been working hard to inspire young people to become very responsible and become leaders of tomorrow. “The Future Awards Africa works all-year-round mentoring young people all over Nigeria and Africa and we shall continue to do so,” he said.
